Race Team

Mitch Miller is from Cornelius, N.C. Mitch’s first race boat was from Reggie Fountain, when Mitch first meet Reggie he told him 25 years prior to racing that I will buy and race one of his boats.

That statement was to become true in 1999. Mitch did purchase a Fountain Offshore Race Boat that would lead him to many championships. He started the team known as Rusty Wallace Offshore Racing and later teaming up with Mat Rice to run the boat known as UTZ Castaway. Mitch and Mat Rice achieved many goals while also setting many records.

Mitch now races with Bob Bull from Merritt Island, Fl. in a 39’ MTI Catamaran known as CMS Offshore Racing. Stepping out of a Mono-Hull and into a 39’ MTI Catamaran, Mitch had a lot to learn not only was Mitch a V-bottom guy his new partner Bob Bull was also a rookie in this boat. They became quick learners and challenged the entire fleet in 2004.

Mitch and Bob may have started the season as Rookies in the new 39’ MTI to only end the season as National Champions. To date Mitch has claimed 26 Wins, Two World Championships, Two National Championships, and Six-Kilo Records. The most recent was set in Washington, N.C., in the CMS Offshore Racing at 126.703mph. from there winning a National Championship, and being inducted into The APBA Hall of Champions in February 2005.

Mitch enjoys the sport of offshore racing and will continue to campaign in the CMS Offshore Racing boat with plans to win the 2005 National and World titles as well as breaking his own Kilo Record.
